Hearty Congratulations to Pat and Emily Doyle on the birth of their first child Fergus Patrick Doyle last Wednesday.

Named after former Willow Fergus Brown, “Gus” (aka The Thinker) is already displaying signs of that strong Doyle "defensive technique". The elbow is kept high at all times while he keeps a tight and compact figure at the crease.

In future, we look forward to reminding Gus of his dad's famous cricket exploits, including the day he left one alone only to lose all three stumps!!

Pat reportedly has the Size 5 Gray Nicholls scoop he made famous under restoration, so look out Milo cricket in a few years time!

Not surprisingly, new Grandfather, and former 2nd XI Captain John Doyle celebrated in predictable fashion… Amidst the excitement, John chowed through half a watermelon at a rapid rate of knots and was last seen wandering the streets of Glen Iris whistling dixie!
