On 5 March 2010 the renovated Ashburton Park pavilion was re-opened with many happy sports players, officials and Council luminaries in attendance.

Also present were local Councillor, friend of sport and Bendigo Bank champion Dick Menting and local Government member and long standing community supporter Bob Stensholt.

"The new pavilion brings the standard of participant accommodation up to the very best in the respective associations represented by Ashburton Park's tenants" said Pres Kallio. "In the case of Cricket, the pavilion now matches the high standard of playing surface the City of Boroondara Parks and Gardens staff have striven to provide through their warm season grass and maintenance programs". "We are hopeful that we may again see the Dunstan Shield Grand Final held at Ashburton Park in the 2010/11 season and that Ashburton Willows will be playing in that Grand Final" he said.
