Zengers voltooi Kamarade Maraton!
Ex-Pat Willow and Terrence Zengerink of Viljoenskroon, Free State (pictured) has completed his third Comrades Marathon, the ultra marathon run this year between Petermaritzburg and Durban, in Natal, South Africa.
The world famous run which is celebrating its 85 anniversary is also a prominent lead up event to the soccer World Cup this year, with in excess of 15,000 runners attempting to complete the gruelling 90 kilometre run.
Family member Bronwen Zengerink advised that at the 60 kilometre mark, Terrence was cramping, but doing well. A further update quoted he was 6 minutes ahead of his previous best time.
Terrence completed the run in a time of 8 hours and 1 minute 30 seconds. This is a super human effort and one which all of the Willows congratulate Terrence on.
Now having completed the run, the Willows are sending a highly trained squad to kidnap him from Jan Smuts Airport in Johannesburg and are hoping to place him on a plane direct to Melbourne, so he can take his position for Ashburton Willows this coming season, only after a St Kilda premiership which he undoubtedly is seeking.
